Eli Eisenberg, 1986, establishes the Retriever Athletics Wellness Endowment

BALTIMORE – Eli Eisenberg ’86interdisciplinary studies, recently created the Retriever Athletics Wellness Endowment to support wellness initiatives for UMBC Division I athletics programs, including nutrition programs, sports medicine, mental health programs, etc.

The production hallway and backstage loading dock at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena will be named in recognition and honor of the gift from Eli and his wife Patricia M. Vitale.

Mr. Eisenberg is the CEO of VPC, Inc., a full-service boutique production company that provides clients with live and virtual video event production services and video content creation. VPC works with UMBC Athletics to produce games on ESPN digital platforms with a focus on training and educating students and young alumni in sports production.

In 2007, Mr. Eisenberg received the UMBC Alumni Service of the Year Award and remains very active in the UMBC community.

“This gift from former Retriever Eli Eisenberg and his wife Patty will have a critical impact on the well-being of UMBC student-athletes,” said athletic director Brian Barrio. “The overall well-being of our student-athletes is at the heart of what we do here and this fund will help ensure that all Retriever student-athletes have their mental health and nutritional needs met.
