Pet of the Week is a Labrador Retriever and Pit Bull Mix

Animal: Thing One, 2 years old, 89 pounds, male Labrador retriever/pit bull mix.

Where: Rancho Coastal Humane Society, 389 Requeza St., Encinitas. Meet every day except Tuesday. Hours: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; closed on Tuesdays.

Adoption fee: $145, for Thing One or its sibling Thing Two, including microchip registration. Adoption fees include sterilization and up-to-date vaccinations.

Profile: Thing One and his brother, Thing Two, were named Shaggy and Scooby when they arrived at the shelter, but since there were pets at the shelter with those names, they were renamed after characters from “The Cat in The” by Dr. Seuss. Hats off.” The brothers need separate homes.
